Genesis 23:4בראשית כג:ד Original Text:גֵּר וְתוֹשָׁב אָנֹכִי עִמָּכֶם תְּנוּ לִי אֲחֻזַּת קֶבֶר עִמָּכֶם וְאֶקְבְּרָה מֵתִי מִלְּפָנָי: Translation:I am a stranger and a resident among you; sell me a burial site among you, that I may remove my dead for burial. Suggested Discussion Questions:1. In this text, Abraham is asking to bury his wife Sarah in a foreign land. If you were the leader of that land, what factors would you consider when decided whether or not to grant permission? What factors are taken into account today for similar requests by travelers and migrants?
