Just as we are obligated to seek after the peace of one another, so too, we are obligated to request the peace of our city and our temple, as it is written, "and seek out the peace of the city." (Jeremiah 29:7) And if we intend for peace and advise peace to one another, God will advise upon us peace, as it is written "I know all intentions." And if we conflict with one another, and distance ourselves from peace, God will distance God's self from us.[translation by AJWS]
