תהלים קט:ל-לא

Original Text:

ל) אוֹדֶה יְקֹוָק מְאֹד בְּפִי וּבְתוֹךְ רַבִּים אֲהַלְלֶנּוּ
לא) כִּי יַעֲמֹד לִימִין אֶבְיוֹן לְהוֹשִׁיעַ מִשֹּׁפְטֵי נַפְשׁוֹ

Translation:

My mouth shall sing much praise to the Lord; I will acclaim God in the midst of a throng, Because God stands at the right hand of the needy, to save [the needy] from those who would condemn them.

 If God protects and defends the poor, then why does poverty exist in the world in the first place?
